Erosion Control

Erosion control, also called sediment control, is the process of mitigating the natural erosion that results from our often-extreme Colorado weather.
From storm water streams, snow fall and snow melt, high wind and hail, if you have a variety of hills and slopes on your property, Signature Landscape can make erosion control part of your landscape plan.

One of the most effective ways to control erosion is by seeding key areas of your landscape.
Since vegetation naturally absorbs water runoff, it can act as a barrier between the source of the excess moisture and surfaces which can be eroded. Erosion can also be controlled better with the use of smart soil nutrients. These additives promote better bonding with the natural minerals in your special soil makeup, creating a stronger surface. Various types of grass seeds, mulch and crimp can also greatly reduce erosion so that the integrity of your property and the landscape design remains intact for years to come.

One of the most common challenges we see is erosion being caused by terrain conditions on neighboring properties or from wind and water runoff from a nearby slope or hill. These factors can not only erode your property’s features but also cause other problems to foundations and concrete.
We take everything into account so that we can design a masterful landscape plan that looks gorgeous while maintaining optimal erosion control.
